Free People Integrates Instagram to product pages

I'm always looking out for innovative ideas in digital marketing and ecommerce and this definitely floats my boat as both a customer and an ecommerce professional. Free People, has started integrating consumers’ Instagram photos onto its product pages by assigning individual hashtags to a selection of products. 
Their customers are being encouraged to upload pictures to Twitter or Instagram with the product hashtag. The images are then sent for moderator approval and then uploaded to the product pages as rich UGC.

Free People are also sending out leaflets with the orders to remind customers to tweet their photos with the necessary hashtags.

The whole thing is powered by Olapic.

Google Doodle - London 2012 Olympic Games

I usually really like the Google Doodles but this one is a bit disappointing for me.
If I was a teacher and a pupil handed that in I would comment on it: Must do better

David Beckham pops up at the @adidasuk #takethestage photobooth

The surprise of a lifetime was unveiled at Westfield Stratford City as adidas brought astonished shoppers face to face with global icon David Beckham. What a shame he didn't make the team cut for Team GB!
The video gave me goosebumps with only 2 days to go to the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games.

River Island x RiRi

I've always loved Rihanna's style, from haute couture elegance to trailer trash chic (total compliment!) she puts her own twist on every outfit which is why I'm super excited about her up-coming collaboration with River Island.

Rihanna said: “I’ve been wanting to design my own collection for some time. River Island is the perfect partner for me to collaborate with and working with a British, family run business also really appealed to me. I find London really inspiring and River Island loves to have fun with clothes. I’m looking forward to working with them and creating something really special.”

The collection for River Island launches in Spring 2013 and I expect a riot when it does.
