X-Rays + embroidery = mega art

These days it's rare that I am so taken aback by contemporary art. Matthew Cox is the creator of these stunning embroidered X-Rays and I really want to be a proud owner of one of them.

ADE 2011 - no rest for the wicked (wicked. Junglist massive. INCREDIBLE)

I've lived in Amsterdam for one year. Arriving a week before ADE last year so didn't really check much out but this year was different. I know the city, I know the people, I know the clubs... chocks away.
Seeing as we didn't go for our yearly Ibiza visit, my friends from London came to visit too so we booked club nights for Thurs, Fri and Sat. yes that's right 3 nights in a row. Suicide much?
Night one consisted of Circo Loco at Westerunie. I had actually never been there before but the club was amazing. one of the best venues in Amsterdam and I'm surprised it hasn't been used more often... that I know of!
I wore red lipstick and by the end of the night, I think I had left my mark on more or less the whole club

Night 2 was Julio Bashmore and Martyn at Trouw. My favourite club in AMS and now, my 2 favourite DJs. The guys were amazing!!!!! If you get a chance, go and see them. Definitely the highlight of the weekend. the crowd was amazing, the vibe was off the chains and every little thing made the night perfect. Trouw never disappoints. Listen to half of Julio Bashmore's essential mix. The set he did at Trouw was pretty similar.

By night 3 we looked like we were pretty much ready for Halloween next weekend but off we went to Desolat at Paradiso which is a converted church. A little bit too minimal for me by that point but still a great night.

I can't wait until next year!
