Time for something geeky...

parallax scrolling... WHAT?

When I saw the Nike Better World page, i was interested to know how the scrolling animated scrolling (technical term) was done and it was done using parallax scrolling - a technique using scrolling to make the page interactive. Want to try it out yourself? See this post

Sack the Stylist

What was Amelia Lily wearing on last night's X Factor?!

The dog toothed, pixelated dress with pink belt - barf, the pink socks and black shoes - vom, the jewelry absolutely piled on her wrists and hands - bleeeeuuuuuurrghhhhh

Can't get it out of my head

At a work marketing conference in October, this song played in brand videos again and again. I still like it though.

Underworld - Born Slippy

How could I forget how strong this tune is??? and it took the opening of an episode of I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here to remind me??? SHAME!

Can't forget how good Trainspotting is though.

H&M online shop FAIL

I can recall a few online shop fails but this takes the diamond encrusted biscuit. Since approx 9:45am the H&M site has been down because of the amount of people trying to get a piece of the new H&M x Versace range.

There are a couple of times I remember being this disappointed by an online shop because they can't be bothered to pay for more servers. The 1st was when theoutnet.com had their massive £1 sale and the 2nd was when the H&M x Lanvin collection was released
Note to self, if I want anything from HM, i'll go instore. This coming from a ecommerce professional. Gah.

X-Rays + embroidery = mega art

These days it's rare that I am so taken aback by contemporary art. Matthew Cox is the creator of these stunning embroidered X-Rays and I really want to be a proud owner of one of them.

ADE 2011 - no rest for the wicked (wicked. Junglist massive. INCREDIBLE)

I've lived in Amsterdam for one year. Arriving a week before ADE last year so didn't really check much out but this year was different. I know the city, I know the people, I know the clubs... chocks away.
Seeing as we didn't go for our yearly Ibiza visit, my friends from London came to visit too so we booked club nights for Thurs, Fri and Sat. yes that's right 3 nights in a row. Suicide much?
Night one consisted of Circo Loco at Westerunie. I had actually never been there before but the club was amazing. one of the best venues in Amsterdam and I'm surprised it hasn't been used more often... that I know of!
I wore red lipstick and by the end of the night, I think I had left my mark on more or less the whole club

Night 2 was Julio Bashmore and Martyn at Trouw. My favourite club in AMS and now, my 2 favourite DJs. The guys were amazing!!!!! If you get a chance, go and see them. Definitely the highlight of the weekend. the crowd was amazing, the vibe was off the chains and every little thing made the night perfect. Trouw never disappoints. Listen to half of Julio Bashmore's essential mix. The set he did at Trouw was pretty similar.

By night 3 we looked like we were pretty much ready for Halloween next weekend but off we went to Desolat at Paradiso which is a converted church. A little bit too minimal for me by that point but still a great night.

I can't wait until next year!

FML I'm not at LFW

So my LFW highlight so far has to be Christopher Bailey's SS12 Burberry collection.
It encapsulates my favourite things all in one runway show; crisp colours, africa inspired prints, the stunning Cara Delevinge and... Andy Murray frow?!
Instead of being there, I am stuck on a metro with a guy with his jeans half way down his arse and his Mickey Mouse boxer are showing. FML x

I feel good good good

I had the immense pleasure of going to the Major Lazer carnival party last month. I just was looking at pics and listening back and this was by far the best set of the day. Oneman and Jackmaster took me right back to my school days by playing classic UK h&g tunes like Despina - Sugar Daddy O and not forgetting Zed Bias feat. Nicky Prince & MC Rumpus - Neighbourhood. Listen to the full live recording below x
