Free People Integrates Instagram to product pages

I'm always looking out for innovative ideas in digital marketing and ecommerce and this definitely floats my boat as both a customer and an ecommerce professional. Free People, has started integrating consumers’ Instagram photos onto its product pages by assigning individual hashtags to a selection of products. 
Their customers are being encouraged to upload pictures to Twitter or Instagram with the product hashtag. The images are then sent for moderator approval and then uploaded to the product pages as rich UGC.

Free People are also sending out leaflets with the orders to remind customers to tweet their photos with the necessary hashtags.

The whole thing is powered by Olapic.

The surprise of a lifetime was unveiled at Westfield Stratford City as adidas brought astonished shoppers face to face with global icon David Beckham. What a shame he didn't make the team cut for Team GB!
The video gave me goosebumps with only 2 days to go to the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games.

River Island x RiRi

I've always loved Rihanna's style, from haute couture elegance to trailer trash chic (total compliment!) she puts her own twist on every outfit which is why I'm super excited about her up-coming collaboration with River Island.

Rihanna said: “I’ve been wanting to design my own collection for some time. River Island is the perfect partner for me to collaborate with and working with a British, family run business also really appealed to me. I find London really inspiring and River Island loves to have fun with clothes. I’m looking forward to working with them and creating something really special.”

The collection for River Island launches in Spring 2013 and I expect a riot when it does.

Danny Wallace's new book - Charlotte Street

Every time I read one of Danny Wallace's books I find myself speeding through the first 90% and then I delay reading the last 10% because I don't want it to end. His books are funny and inspiring which is why I was so happy to hear that Danny's new book has come out entitled 'Charlotte Street'. I ordered the book yesterday so haven't read it yet but I will definitely be posting again once I have.

The caviar manicure came back and went again

Ciaté launched their Caviar Manicure Set earlier this year but sold out and gathered a waiting list of 14,000 people! They apparently came back in stock yesterday but are again already sold out of the pink and black versions :(
It contains synthetic pearls and a nail polish and there's a choice of 3 colours. The white one is still available online at time of post. Try Selfridges or Ciaté in case they get more stock.

The world's 1st shoppable music video

Ssense, a luxury retail company based in Montreal, has recently launched what they’re calling the “world’s first interactive shoppable music video.” The music video for I Think She Ready features Diplo, FKi, and Iggy Azalea who are all styled in products sold on the site.

I personally don't think the shoppable execution is great seeing as you have to be very nimble with your mouse to hover over the right spot at the right time. However, the concept is fantastic. I am always Google-ing what my fave stars are wearing and this saves me the trouble.

Get kidnapped by adidas

If you happen to be in an adidas shop in France in the next couple of weeks, you might get kidnapped. It's part of a very creative campaign for the new ClimaCool running shoes.
Check this promo video out where a guy goes into the shop in Marseille to try on a pair of ClimaCool trainers. He gets chosen to be kidnapped by Teddy Riner's henchmen to carry out a mission which involves running through the city full of obstacles and challenges. Teddy, a judo champion, guides the customer through a headset. His mission: to take pizzas to a famous rapper called Soprano to watch a game of football with the star. After going through a few challenges, the customer is dropped by parachute from a helicopter above Soprano's villa with pizzas.
ClimaCool Mission accomplished.

The same guys behind Bourne & Hollingsworth in Fitrovia have come up with an interesting concept called The Fourth Wall which is London's first wandering bar. It will be a replica of Bourne & Hollingsworth but in different locations every week, open every Friday and Saturday between 5pm - 1am.

The Fourth Wall’s weekly location remains a secret. Notes, emails, messages and codes will be left around London. What an innovative concept!

In the same vein, if you're in Amsterdam, go to Door74. A bar on a small side street, behind an unmarked, black door which serves the best cocktails in town. Make sure you call before though.

nike+ fuelband

Credit where it's due, the nike+ fuelband looks amazing. Not only is the product great but, as usual, nike has created some great rich content around it. I particularly like the way they have integrated sport and style together for this product too. Something adidas started doing with the launch of the 'all in' campaign in March 2011.



It's only available in the US (and sold out at the moment) but it won't be long until it hits Europe.
